apple almond tart

A fluted french tart pan with removable bottom is the best pan to use for making this apple almond tart.


1 1/2 cups flour
7 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 pinch of salt
almond paste mixture (see below)
3 apples, spliced
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla bean paste
1 Tablespoons Korintje cinnamon
almond slices


3.5 oz. pure almond paste (tubes come in 7oz. package)
1/2 cup of sugar
4 Tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup wheat flour, sifted
1 egg

Blend flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Put into a food processor and mix to form dough. Grease a tart pan (with removable bottom). Knead dough along the bottom and sides of tart pan to form crust.

Add almond mixture along the edges of the tart pan.

Blend apples, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Add this mixture to the tart pan with any additional almond mixture. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Bake at 350 F for 45 minutes.
