Ice cream “drowned” in espresso and Frangelico liqueur.
magnificent; very impressive ; being out of the ordinary
If you have been lucky enough to taste Jeni’s Splendid ice cream then you will understand just how splendid her ice cream really is! Jeni has raised the bar on the standard of ice cream by providing a less sweet and more flavorful ice cream.
Earlier this year I hosted an ice cream tasting party and had Jeni’s ice cream shipped in from Ohio for the event. Tasting sheets were handed out to all the guests and I asked them to write their first impressions next to the corresponding flavors as they were sampled.
Salty Caramel: I haven’t tried the others yet but this one has to be the best!
Pistachio & Honey: I liked this more than I thought I would. The honey really complements the pistachios.
Riesling Poached Pear: Very refreshing sorbet! Would be great between courses.
Goat Cheese w/Roasted Red Cherries: I was pleasantly surprised by this combination. It tastes like a cherry cheesecake!
Mango Lassi: My fav! Creamy mango, smooth taste, excellent!
Meyer Lemon Blueberry: Tart flavor – LOVED IT! The lemon and blueberry together are a wonderful combination with a lasting after taste.
Brown Butter Almond Brittle: My favorite! Love the crunch from the added almond brittle.
Strawberry Buttermilk: Yum, creamy!
Dark Chocolate: mmmm! Richest chocolate ice cream I’ve ever tasted!
My prediction: Jenni’s Splendid Ice Cream will be in gourmet grocery stores across the United States within a couple of years. They are that good!
Be sure to check out Jeni’s SIGNATURE and SEASONAL ice cream flavors. It was hard to pick a favorite (from the flavors I sampled) but I really loved the Brown Butter Almond Brittle. This flavor is based on a traditional Norwegian dessert and since I recently returned from a trip to Norway I could really appreciate this flavor combination.
