Macédoine of fruit is oh-so-French, but this fruit-cocktail dessert is also common throughout Spain, Italy, and Latin America.

Preparation

  • 1.

    Add all of the chopped fruit to a large bowl.

  • 2.

    In a small bowl add the sugar and zest from the orange and lemon. Stir to incorporate the flavor from the zest into the sugar. Add this sugar mixture to the bowl of chopped fruit.

  • 3.

    Add the the Kirsch, maraschino juice and Curacao and stir to combine.
    Add the last three liquids to the bowl and mix everything together.

  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 2 cups of pineapple, chopped
  • 2 peaches, chopped
  • 2 oranges, peeled and chopped
  • 2 bananas, chopped
  • 1 pear, chopped
  • 4 figs, chopped
  • 4 Tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
  • 1 Tablespoon of Kirsh
  • 1 Tablespoon of maraschino cherry juice
  • 1 Tablespoon of Curacao
